Overview: An aluminum piston is used in intemal combustion engines, in which the
grooves for receiving the piston rings are formed in stainless steel inserts fusion bonded
directly to the aluminum without a middle metallic layer other than the resulting alloy of
the steel and aluminum. The process of producing such piston is described in which
austenitic stainless steel powder deposited in an oversize groove in the aluminum piston
is melted by a laser beam to simultaneously form the stainless steel insert and alloy it
with the aluminum to provide a fusion bond, the piston ring groove being subsequently
formed in the stainless steel insert.

Overview: Automated foundry systems consist of mold pallets that are directed to
release on to a shakeout table for carrying castings to a shakeout unit. The shakeout unit is
used for separating the casting and molding sand. These systems widely used by major
foundries all over the world, can be adapted to various processes and production
requirements when integrated with other machinery specific to that phase of the
operation, such as debating, decoring, handling, etc. Simultaneous engineering and
unrelenting attention to the customer's requirements, state-of-the-art design and
manufacturing facilities and quality control assures you of the best possible return on
    your investment.

Overview: Casting Carousels allows high volume manufacturing of various castings
(such as cylinder heads, engine blocks, pistons, manifolds, pump bodies, etc.)
guaranteeing maximum repeatability of the technological cycle and minimum
supervision. The casting carousel configuration may vary from between three to six
casting machines. Each of the casting machines permits independent movement of the
    molds.

Overview: Cooling conveyors are used for moving poured foundry molds through a
cooling process that consist of a fixed base frame supporting the molds, and a frame that
moves through a closed path with respect to the base frame with other moving molds.
The fixed frame will retum to its original position before the engagement with a mold.
Each mold is spaced out lengthwise on the frame.

Overview: Core making is a critical application in modern foundry operation. Quality of
sand, accurate dosing of resins, optimized sand mixing, geometrical precision, controlled
environmental parameters are required to guarantee top quality manufacturing. Today
complex core making systems must perform with the highest level of availability as part
of the entire foundry process. Integration of automated material handling and handling
robots are and more involved in core making systems; proccess control is fundamental.

Overview: High Pressure Molding is used for minimizing problems of mold wall
movements. It can be used for most casting metals. With high mold densities, it gives the
castings impoved dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and better soundness. The
casting weights turn out be uniformly consistant. High Pressure Molding requires a high
standard of pattern construction and finish. It will be able to withstand any elastic
    distortion and is exceptionally strong.

Overview: Lost Foam Casting is used particularly for automotive a pplications. It is
a molding technique that produces patterns by blowing polystyrene beads into aluminum
mold cavities. Injecting steam into the tooling cavity expands the beads. The beads will
flatten against the tool surface and stick to one another. After cooling, the pattern is ejected
    from the tool.

Overview: A piston Casting is used in intemal combustion engines, in which the grooves
for receiving the piston rings are formed in stainless steel inserts fusion bonded directly
to the aluminum without a middle metallic layer other than the resulting alloy of the steel
    and aluminum.

Overview: Casting in plaster molds has been developed principally for use with
aluminum alloys. As with the ceramic mold process, tooling consists of metal pattems.
Covering the plaster patterns can be used for forming the plaster molds. Mixtures of
gypsum or plaster with ingredients such as talc and silica flour are used for molding. The
ingredients are used to control the contraction characteristics of the mold. The mold
materials are mixed with water to a creamy consistency. It will then be poured in to the
    pattern and allowed to set.

Overview: Precision sand casting is a method of refining sand, clay, and water and
packing it together by hand, with power tools, or in a pneumatic machine. By doing this
process it will apply more force to pack the grains of sand and clay together to form each
mold half. Sand is successfully used in metal casting processess because it has the ability
to absorb and transmit heat as it allows gases evolved during binder breakdown to pass
between the grains. There are many types of sand utilized by the foundry industry. Silica
sand is the one that makes most of the metal castings.

Overview: Robotic fettling operations need to make use of reduced space and allow for
maximum flexibility. Special machines are manufactured with robust features to comply
with difficult after casting environmental conditions. Robotic fettling improves the
quality of finishes, has better consistency from piece to piece, and it will increase
    productivity.

Overview: Sand Regeneration provides an effective solution to one of the major
economic problems. It not only eliminates the need to dispose of waste sand, but also
solves pollution related problems at the source. Sand regeneration reuses waste foundry
sand bonded with organic resins or green molding sand bonded with bentonite. It
guarantees that only clean fumes are discharged in to the outer air. The system is reusing
the sand in all phases of the process.

Overview: In a Shell Mold Casting a shell of sand forms the mold cavity. The sand is much
more thin and weighs less than the molds commonly used in sand foundries. Shell Mold
Castings surpasses normal sand castings in surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
The Shell Mold Castings also cool at a slightly higher rate.
